Human Resources Generalist

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Human Resource Manager for Lisle and Indianapolis, the HR Generalist will provide human resources guidance and support in the areas of employee engagement, performance management, compensation, organizational development, and benefits to the Greenleaf’s Corporate office and field sales organization.  In addition to providing support for the day-to-day HR needs of the assigned client group, the HR generalist will be involved in project work in the areas of compensation, HR compliance, and policy standardization across all of Greenleaf. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deploy tools and interventions in the areas of performance management, work environment practices, rewards and recognition, retention, compensation, employee development and advancement, diversity, and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide advice and guidance in all employee relations matters, including dispute resolution and performance improvement.
  • Provide leadership in employee engagement initiatives that develop community and retention of employees.
  • Facilitate execution of HR corporate programs (e.g. succession planning, performance management, common merit, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain credibility with all employees, by following up and responding to questions, concerns, and problems quickly, professionally and accurately.
  • Develop and lead the orientation and onboarding processes for the corporate office and field sales teams.
  • Monitor key HR performance indicators such as Tenure, Turnover, Retention and in concert with VP, HR develop plans to close performance gaps.
  • In partnership with the HR Manager and Maple Leaf HR ensures that HR initiatives, policies, and procedures are implemented in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Ensure people movement (new hires, voluntary and involuntary terminations, promotions, transfers etc.) are accurately executed in the relevant HR systems.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, HR or business focus preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years HR and/or related experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build and leverage relationships.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Business acumen and good detail orientation.
  • Ability to work with data in excel.
  • Strong plus if you have previous experience in compensation administration.
