The Opportunity:
As part of the Total Rewards team, the Senior Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible for collaborating in the research, analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, communication and execution of the company’s total rewards programs and related processes and systems with a focus on the company’s US Protein business. The individual will be responsible for supporting the alignment of our total rewards programs with business objectives that support organizational strategies. They will be responsible for the delivery of our compensation and benefits programs through coaching people leaders, supporting program participants, building internal-client relationships, and supporting the local administration of our programs and processes. 

A snap shot of some of the exciting things you will do:
  • Collaborate in the creation and/or redesign of a wide range of compensation and benefit plans/programs and processes
  • Analyze compensation and benefits related data and practices, interpret results and make appropriate recommendations in alignment with corporate objectives
  • Provide local process coordination and support for the annual compensation and benefits cycles (merit, short term incentive, annual enrollment), including system readiness testing, data maintenance and clean up
  • Participate in the day to day compensation and benefit activities in compliance with the compensation and benefits program guidelines as well as all applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Support internal clients (HR, line managers, employees) by providing sound consultation, guidance and education related to our Total Rewards programs and processes
  • Work with HR, Payroll, HCM and HR Services as subject matter expert and key contact for US compensation, benefits, and disability programs, acting as the point of escalation to resolve issues
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the compensation, benefits and disability programs to provide an effective employee, HR and manager experience and ensure organizational compliance with all relevant legislation and plan provisions
  • Conduct job evaluations and compensation reviews and analyses, ensuring internal equity and equal pay legislation compliance
  • Interpret and support leave and disability accommodation programs and policies in accordance with federal and state laws (FMLA, ADA, WA PFML, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports as required to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring employee privacy guidelines are followed 
  • Participate in key compensation surveys & associations to ensure access to best data related to US market
  • Support training of the local HR team on initiatives being implemented
  • Support centralized compensation and benefit communication by providing guidance on unique US requirements, providing supplementary local communication where necessary
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • In coordination with the HR Services team, participate in testing of HRIS updates/changes for compensation and benefits items
  • Lead and support projects related to total rewards programs and the HR team
  • While the role will primarily be responsible for the US protein business, there will be opportunities to be involved in other company wide projects or initiatives

What you will bring: 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • ​Have strong working knowledge of US compensation and benefits topics and legislation

  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FLSA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare and Social Security and DOL requirements

  • Demonstrated customer service focus with ability to forge partnerships within the business

  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a cross border team in a collaborative manner

  • Ability to handle information with accuracy, security and confidentiality

  • Exceptional organizational skills and a proven ability to work under pressure

  • Strong communication and consulting skills with capability to adapt to a variety of audiences

  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment for effective decision making

  • University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience with US benefits and compensation programs required
  • Work experience with HRIS system (experience SAP/Success Factors considered an asset)
  • CEBS, CCP and/or CHRL designations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Office programs as well as web-based applications
